Laura and Baloutinue make the US Olympic Team

It was a great end to the week at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, with Calgary Tame taking the win in the final day's 1.50m Manama Rose Show Stakes. Calgary Tame was also 2nd in Saturday's 1.50m Defender Challenge Stakes.

Confu and Bisquetta joined Calgary Tame for the trip to London, with all horses jumping some great rounds.

Confu came 7th in Friday's 1.45m Pearl Stakes and 5th in the 1.55m Kingdom of Bahrain Stakes for The King's Cup on Saturday.

Bisquetta came 4th in Friday's 1.55 Defender Stakes.

Calgary Tame

Calgary Tame on flying form at CSI5* Royal Windsor Horse Show

It was a fantastic show in Miami this weekend with Calgary Tame and Bisquetta.

As part of the Rome Gladiators Global Champions Tour Team with Lorenzo De Luca, Laura and Calgary Tame jumped a swift clear in the first 1.55 GCT competition to finish 4th and then backed this performance up with another clear round, this time on Bisquetta, to finish 3rd.

These performances, along with Lorenzo's clear round put the Rome Gladiators into the top podium position.

Nick is a world-renowned show jumping rider whose career has spanned nearly 38 years, winning thousands of classes and hundreds of Grand Prix events, and over £6.5m in prize money. He brings his brilliance to the show ring not only when he competes, but also as a trainer alongside Kraut. Nick has become a legend in the sport, consistently rising to the top of the standings.

Nick holds the British equestrian high jump record, when he jumped over 7’7″ on Lastic in London back in 1978 and has competed at seven Olympic Games. He has won 10 European Championship medals, six World Championship medals, a World Cup title and over 60 major Grand Prix titles. Other highlights include four Calgary Grand Prix wins, three Aachen Grand Prix wins, five Dublin Grand Prix victories and three Hickstead Jumping Derby triumphs.

In 2016, at the age of 58, Skelton won the Individual Olympic Gold Medal at his seventh Olympic Games in Rio.

An essential part of Laura’s Team is her head groom, Margo Thomas. Margo travels with Laura to all shows and ensures that the horses are taken care of to the highest standard.

Rome Gladiators take the win in Miami

Cherry Knoll Farm's Cedric has been inducted into Kentucky Horse Park's Showjumping Hall of fame.

The Hall of Fame was established in 1987 and formally opened in 1989 to recognise legends of the men, women and horses who have made great contributions to the sport.

Cedric, who amassed over $2 million in prize money,  helped Laura and the U.S. win a team gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong. 

His partnership with Laura lasted more than 11 years, producing 81 clear and 45 double-clear rounds in major competitions of $100,000 or more.

Cedric is now enjoying retirement with his old U.S team mate, Lauren Hough's Quick Study.

Laura told Chronicle of the Horse:

“Cedric has been the horse of a lifetime for me. He has been incredible, and I’ve learned not to give up and to persevere. It took a long time as he was a little bit slower to develop than your normal grand prix horse. He’s been amazing, and I think I’ll never have another horse like him.”

It has been a phenomenal day for Team USA in Santiago, taking Team Gold, and qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Laura and Dorado 212 helped the team to victory with an immaculate double clear in the team competition.

The pair who were riding alongside their teammates; Karl Cook & Caracole de La Roque, Kent Farrington & Landon and McLain Ward & Contagious helped the team to finish on a total of 12.37 penalties, ahead of 2nd placed Canada who also qualified for Paris 2024, finishing on a total of 17.62 penalties.

Team USA take Gold at the PanAm games and qualify for Paris 2024

Bisquetta and Laura finished at the top of the leaderboard this weekend in Chantilly.

Out of a field of 50 combinations, Laura and Bisquetta were drawn 42nd to go.

Bisquetta showed her talent and class, by jumping clear and heading through to the jump off.

Crossing the line in a time of 41.26, Laura and Bisquetta took the win, ahead of second placed fellow USA Team member, Giavanna Rinaldi and Parrandero.

A 4* Grand Prix win at Chantilly

We've had a great show in Mexico at the San Miguel de Allende CSIO 5* with Baloutinue and Bisquetta.

Baloutinue was part of the winning Nations Cup Team for the USA, jumping the only double clear of the competition.

Bisquetta also jumped a double clear to win her 1.50M class on Friday.
